Björgvin Ingi Ólafsson, summer employee
Björgvin Ingi Ólafsson started working at Orkusalan in May 2023 as a summer employee in the service center.
,,In the summer of 2023, I started working at Orkusalan as a summer employee. My main tasks include registering new customers in transactions, calling people and inviting them to become customers, and handling orders for charging stations," says Björgvin, who was very quick to learn the electrical lingo, having recently graduated from the Technical College (electrical engineering) and being well acquainted with the field.
What makes Orkusalan a great place to work?
The view and the staff at Orkusalan are very important to Björgvin.
,,ALL the staff are fun, making the workdays enjoyable for everyone. It's also very nice to be able to go out on the balcony and get some fresh air while enjoying the view," says Björgvin.
What is fun for you?
,,A good laugh with family or friends is always the most fun," says Björgvin finally. Björgvin plans to study electrical engineering in the fall, but when he's not thinking about electricity, he's dominating people in table tennis, as Björgvin is a two-time Icelandic champion in table tennis in the age group 16 to 18 years and Icelandic champion in doubles in the same age category.
