Erling Ormar Vignisson, Head of Digital Solutions
Erling started working at Orkusalan in 2019 after living in Sweden for seven years. Erling's first projects at Orkusalan involved the implementation of a new billing system and the development of a new service website, along with establishing processes related to the collection of unpaid claims. Subsequently, tasks related to PowerBI reports and data presentation were added, as well as the implementation of a CRM system that has since become an indispensable part of the operation.
Many of Erling's projects are also carried out in close collaboration with other departments: "Projects related to web issues, customer self-service, and service processes are conducted in collaboration with the marketing department; system integration, automation, and the operation of the billing system are projects carried out in cooperation with the financial department. In addition, I participate in contract negotiations with service providers and take part in issues related to changes in regulatory frameworks in the electricity market, reviews, and work on changes to business terms in line with changes and increased service offerings from Orkusalan."
Last but not least, the charging station project Heimastuð has been prominent in development in recent quarters, so it can be said that Erling has many irons in the fire.

What makes Orkusalan a good workplace?
"Orkusalan is not a large company in terms of employees, but it serves more than 30,000 customers with the essential product electricity. I find the size an exciting factor, but the fact that lines of communication are short and decision-making can be quick: a double-edged sword that is a powerful weapon but needs to be used with care," says Erling.
"The recorded assets owned by Orkusalan are indeed valuable, but the people working at Orkusalan are no less valuable. We help each other, are critical of our own work, and are aware of what and how we can do better. Often there is a race against time and many irons in the fire following Orkusalan's rapid growth, making it exciting to work with people who strive to deliver good work," says Erling.

What is fun for you?
"Fun is the energy we draw from each other, the atmosphere at the workplace, and the strength behind the Orkusalan brand," says Erling, who values having fun at work and is known for embracing all fun activities.
